Measures for Financial Stabilization of Public Pensions (Research Report Commissioned by the National Assembly Research Service)

This is a 2022 research report commissioned by the National Assembly Research Service. The report explores measures for financial stabilization of public pensions while providing a comprehensive account of automatic adjustment mechanisms. It proposes an approach to introducing an automatic adjustment mechanism that reflects Korea's particular circumstances. The report notes that the high elderly poverty rate in Korea is attributable in part to the trap of averages. It is reported that this commissioned report generated considerable interest in the 21st National Assembly.
