The Reality of Japan’s Public Pension in Practice (3) — A 2023 Paper in “Private School Pension Research”

Korea’s stakeholders
and many groups of experts have,
all this while,
misled the public about how
public pensions abroad actually operate!
Japan is the country from which
Korea copied its pension system.
This is the third posting
in a series intended to show properly
the current state
of Japan’s public pension operation!
The material in this posting —
the 2023 paper in “Private School Pension Research”
by Research Fellow Emeritus Yun Suk-myung,
and its content
(data published by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare) —
agrees exactly with
the YouTube material on Japan’s public pension
posted earlier
on the Pension Future Forum’s website.
The two match precisely!
The Pension Future Forum puts a public question once again.
The March 20, 2025
amendment of the National Pension Act
they have been calling a reform:
we call on the Public Pension Strengthening People’s Action,
certain members of the National Assembly from the Democratic Party and the new Cho Kuk party,
and
the considerable number of experts in the pension field
who are backing them,
to compare it with the three items of Japan-related pension material posted
on the Pension Future Forum’s website,
and to say whether the March 20, 2025
amendment of the National Pension Act
“is still, even now,
something they consider a genuine reform” —
that is what we ask them to state
publicly!
