President Park continued by stating that the Government Employees Pension reform plan must be processed during the May session of the National Assembly, and that the National Pension should be decided after sufficient discussion;

she repeatedly urged the ruling and opposition parties not to leave a mountain of debt to future generations.

(Note:

President Park Geun-hye's remark that the National Pension should be decided after sufficient discussion

refers to the fact that the Government Employees Pension discussion body had hastily agreed to raise the National Pension income replacement rate by 10 percentage points, from 40% to 50%.)
