An analysis has emerged suggesting that the Government Employees Pension is at least 1.4 times higher than the National Pension.

When comparing the combined pension amount and severance pay of the National Pension and the Government Employees Pension,

an office worker earning a monthly salary of 4.5 million won receives approximately 1.58 million won, whereas a civil servant with the same salary can receive approximately 2.83 million won.

As this analysis from the National Pension Research Institute was released, the issue of equity between the National Pension and the Government Employees Pension immediately became a subject of controversy.
